Correspondance Course Format

portable appliance testing

We have an increasing number of enquiries regarding our Portable Appliance Testing training courses. Many of these enquiries are from Companies hundreds of miles from our Bolton based office. For practical purposes, I have realised that we are just too far away for a candidate to come to us, or for our trainer to visit them. Hotels, train fares, meals, etc make the exercise too costly. In addition, finding a suitable date has proved difficult.

Consequently, we offer a correspondence course. Not only does this allow the candidate to learn during a time schedule to suit him/her, but much more of the subject theory can be absorbed rather than trying to cram during a one or two day course.
The benefits are obvious - less stress, less hassle and more time to understand the subject.

Whilst formulating the correspondence course notes etc. we have endeavored to take into account a wide variety of candidate ability. Some candidates will be further advanced in electrical testing than others; some may already be carrying out Appliance Testing and are taking the course purely to gain a certificate to show their competency. Most candidates will have some electrical knowledge but require guidance on testing, legislation and the general do's and don'ts of Portable Appliance Testing.

It is not expected that the candidate remember word for word the information provided in the course notes and additional literature. It is however, important that the candidate should know where to find any information he or she may require. We regard familiarity with the text as the main point of focus. If you are not sure about something - LOOK IT UP.
